How to use Electricity Bill Estimator

  1. 1Choose the consumer category shown on your bill: unprotected, protected or lifeline.
  2. 2Enter the units used and your sanctioned load in kW (lifeline: choose single or three phase).
  3. 3Optionally add the fuel and quarterly adjustments per unit, and taxes, copied from your bill.
  4. 4Read the estimate and the breakdown of each charge.

Good to know

The same residential schedule applies to customers of all ex-WAPDA distribution companies (such as LESCO, IESCO, FESCO, GEPCO, MEPCO, PESCO, HESCO, SEPCO, QESCO, TESCO and HAZECO) and to K-Electric customers.

How the units are charged

  • Unprotected: all units are charged at the rate of the slab your total falls in. For example, 250 units are all charged at the 201–300 rate.
  • Protected: get the benefit of one previous slab, so 150 units are charged as 100 at the first rate and 50 at the second.
  • Lifeline: no slab benefit and no fixed charges, but a minimum monthly charge of Rs 75 (single phase) or Rs 150 (three phase).
  • Fixed charges: a rate per kW of sanctioned load that depends on your slab, for protected and unprotected homes.

Not calculated

  • Fuel charges and quarterly adjustments, which change regularly. Add them from your bill if you want them included.
  • GST, electricity duty, income tax, TV fee, meter rent, arrears and instalments. These have not been verified here, so the calculator does not assume them; you can add their total yourself.
  • Time-of-use meters, sanctioned loads of 5 kW or more, prepaid meters and non-residential connections
  • Whether you qualify as protected or lifeline: use the category shown on your bill

This is an estimate. Your distribution company’s bill is the only authoritative amount.

  1. S.R.O. 279(I)/2026 – notification of NEPRA's decision dated 11 February 2026 (Annex-A-1, page 15)

Government of Pakistan, Ministry of Energy (hosted by NEPRA) · Dated 12 February 2026 · Effective 12 February 2026 · Checked 30 September 2026

Residential slab rates and fixed charges per kW; only protected consumers get the benefit of one previous slab; lifeline consumers get no slab benefit; minimum charge of Rs 75 (single phase) / Rs 150 (three phase) where fixed charges do not apply; fixed charges based on sanctioned load.

National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) · Dated 11 February 2026 · Checked 30 September 2026

The same rates and fixed charges (paras 10 and 16, before/after table) and that the Authority adopted them as proposed (para 22).

  3. NEPRA decision on the Federal Government motion for uniform tariff, CY 2026 (12 January 2026), Annex-C

National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) · Dated 12 January 2026 · Checked 30 September 2026

The earlier CY 2026 schedule; cross-check for the rates that were not changed in February 2026.

  4. S.R.O. 1643(I)/2026 (23 September 2026), paragraph 3

National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) · Dated 23 September 2026 · Checked 30 September 2026

K-Electric consumers are charged the tariff applicable to consumers of the XWAPDA DISCOs.

  5. S.R.O. 953(I)/2026 – quarterly adjustment, 1st quarter CY 2026 (8 June 2026)

National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) · Dated 8 June 2026 · Checked 30 September 2026

Quarterly adjustments are separate per-unit amounts that change over time (this one: −Rs 1.9857/kWh for June–August 2026, not for lifeline or prepaid consumers), which is why the estimator asks for them from the bill.

Not verified yet: tax rates on electricity bills, fees such as TV fee and meter rent, and the rules for qualifying as a protected or lifeline consumer. These are left to the user instead of being assumed.
