Good to know
The tool tries different quality settings and keeps the highest quality that fits your target. Lower quality means smaller files, with more visible blur and blocky patches, especially at small targets.
- Some targets cannot be reached at the image’s current width and height. When that happens you are told the smallest size that was possible, and you can allow smaller dimensions or choose a higher target. The tool never reports success when the target was missed.
- With Allow smaller dimensions on, the tool reduces the width and height instead of dropping quality below 50%, because a smaller image usually looks cleaner than a large, blocky one at the same file size.
- ToolSolvo counts 1 KB as 1,024 bytes and shows the exact byte count. If a form counts 1 KB as 1,000 bytes, choose a slightly lower target.
- PNG output is not offered here because PNG has no quality setting to trade for size.
- JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas become white. WebP keeps transparency.
- Photo metadata such as camera details and location is not copied to the result.
