How to use Image Resizer
- 1Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image.
- 2Enter a new width or height. The other side updates automatically while “Keep aspect ratio” is on.
- 3Or open “Photo and signature sizes” to apply an example size or convert a print size (mm or inches at a DPI) to pixels.
- 4Optionally change the format or quality, or use a quick 25/50/75% preset.
- 5Click Resize image, check the preview, and download.
Good to know
Shrinking an image keeps it sharp. Enlarging it beyond its original size cannot add detail, so the result will look softer.
- Turn off Keep aspect ratio to set width and height freely. You then choose whether to crop the edges, add white margins, or stretch the image to the new shape.
- The photo and signature presets are general examples, not official requirements. Passport offices, employers and exam boards set their own sizes, so check the form and edit the width and height if they differ. Photos are cropped from the centre, so make sure the face is centred first; signatures get white margins so nothing is cut off.
- The print-size calculator turns millimetres, centimetres or inches at a chosen DPI into pixels. ToolSolvo sets the pixel size only; it does not write your chosen DPI into the saved file.
- PNG keeps transparency. JPG does not, so transparent areas become white. WebP gives the smallest files for the web.
- Lower quality means smaller JPG and WebP files, with more visible compression.
- Photo metadata (EXIF, including location) is removed from the resized copy.
- The maximum output size is 10,000 pixels per side.
